Patna, May 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav has reached Singapore for a routine medical checkup, where he was warmly received at the airport by his daughter, Rohini Acharya.
The emotional reunion between father and daughter has attracted widespread attention, with a video of the moment going viral on social media.
Upon meeting her father after a considerable period, Rohini Acharya became visibly emotional and embraced him at the airport. Family members present during the reunion were also seen sharing heartfelt moments.
Lalu Yadav reportedly carried several items from India, including mangoes, litchis, laddoos, and other household goods for his family in Singapore.
Sharing the video on social media, Rohini Acharya expressed her deep affection and reverence for her father. In an emotional message, she wrote that it felt as though God Himself had arrived at her home.
Describing her father as the centre of her world, she stated that all four sacred pilgrimage sites, or Char Dhams, had come to her doorstep and that even the dust from his feet was a blessing for her.
Lalu Prasad Yadav underwent a kidney transplant in Singapore in 2022, with Rohini Acharya donating one of her kidneys to save her father's life. Since the successful transplant procedure, he has been making periodic visits to Singapore for routine medical examinations and follow-up consultations.
Sources close to the family said his current visit is also solely for a scheduled health checkup. During his stay, Lalu Yadav is expected to remain at Rohini Acharya's residence in Singapore.
Apart from her role within the family, Rohini Acharya has also remained active in politics. She contested the 2024 Lok Sabha election from the Saran parliamentary constituency as an RJD candidate and actively campaigned during Bihar's political contests.
In recent years, reports of differences within sections of the extended family and party circles had also surfaced. Rohini had publicly alleged that some individuals close to Tejashwi Yadav had behaved inappropriately toward her and that she was unfairly blamed for electoral setbacks.
She had also expressed disappointment over what she described as a lack of respect. Following those developments, Rohini reportedly stayed away from several family gatherings.
Notably, she did not attend the recent birthday celebration of Tejashwi Yadav's son, Iraz, despite the presence of most members of the family.
