Vijay Sethupathi Begins Shooting for Puri Jagannadh’s Next in Hyderabad

Vijay Sethupathi has officially kickstarted the shoot for his upcoming pan-Indian film, helmed by director Puri Jagannadh. The project was launched with a traditional mahurat puja in Hyderabad, marking the beginning of what’s being described as a raw and intense cinematic journey. The production house confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that key talkie portions featuring Sethupathi and actress Samyuktha are currently being filmed as part of a continuous shoot schedule.

 

Director Puri Jagannadh also took to social media to share the excitement from the sets. Posting group photos with Vijay Sethupathi, Samyuktha, and the production team, he wrote, “AND IT BEGINS! The raw and real journey of #PuriSethupathi begins on the sets today in Hyderabad.” The director added that the film will release in five languages—Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam—further reinforcing its pan-India ambitions.

 

Joining the lead cast is veteran actress Tabu, who is set to play a pivotal role in the film. Produced under the Puri Connects banner by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur, the film aims to blend gritty storytelling with mass appeal, in line with Jagannadh’s signature style. While much about the plot remains under wraps, the casting and scale hint at a high-energy drama with emotional weight.

 

This marks Vijay Sethupathi’s next big project following Ace, which released on May 23. In Ace, he portrayed Kannan, also known as Bolt, a man looking for a fresh start abroad who finds himself trapped in a dangerous web. That performance was lauded for Sethupathi’s intensity and layered portrayal. With Puri Jagannadh at the helm now, fans are expecting yet another powerful transformation from the actor in this untitled film.
