Kolkata, June 13 (SocialNews.XYZ) A new audio clip in relation to the multi-crore cash-for-school job case in West Bengal has surfaced following which the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), on Thursday, approached a special court in Kolkata for permission to collect voice- samples of five individuals whose voices were reportedly heard in the said audio-clip.
Three of the five individuals are former West Bengal School Service Commission chairman Subiresh Bhattacharya, former WBSSC secretary, and former WBSSC staff Samarjit Acharya and Parna Bhattacharya.
The other two are Niladri Das and Pankaj Bansal, both associates of NYSA, the private agency outsourced by the commission to supply and preserve optical mark recognition (OMR) sheets used for the written examination for recruitment.
All these five individuals have been named in the chargesheet filed by CBI in the school-job case. However, the CBI counsel informed the court that the investigating officials would not be able to divulge in the open court the source of this audio clip for the sake of further investigation and precautionary secrecy in the matter.
During the hearing, Bhattacharya's counsel raised doubts about the authenticity of the audio clip and its source. He claimed that bringing up the issue of the new audio clips after filing three chargesheets by CBI raised doubts about its authenticity.
Thereafter the judge of the special court observed that if not in the open court, the central investigating agency would have to inform the court about the source of the audio-clip confidentially by attaching a “confidential note” along with it.
Meanwhile, sources aware of the development said that the conversations heard in said audio clip also give a clear picture of how the former West Bengal education minister and Trinamool Congress secretary general Partha Chatterjee personally monitored and guided each step to be taken in the entire scam.
Sources added that the contents of the audio clip have material enough to make the case even more watertight against Chatterjee, who had already been identified both by CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as the principal mastermind in the school job case.
Secondly, sources added, the documents will be crucial in establishing the nexus between top officials of both WBSSC and NYSA in giving the entire corrupt process a smooth shape.
