Katrina Kaif tests positive for Covid-19; under home quarantine

Actress Katrina Kaif on Tuesday informed that she has tested positive for COVID-19 and is under home quarantine. Katrina took to her Instagram Story and requested those who came in contact with her to also get themselves tested. The ‘New York’ star said she is currently following protocols listed by her doctors and thanked fans for their continued support.

“I have tested positive for Covid-19. Have immediately isolated myself and will be under home quarantine. I’m following all safety protocols under the advice of my doctors.

 

“Requesting everyone who came in contact with me to get tested immediately too. Grateful for all your love and support. Please stay safe and take care,” Kaif wrote.

Meanwhile, several Bollywood actors - Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, Govinda, Vikrant Massey, Katrik Aaryan, Manoj Bajpayee, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and many others have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last few weeks.

Maharashtra is the worst-hit state in the Covid- second wave contributing to more than 50 per cent of the national cases. The government has also recently announced stricter measures like night curfew, weekend lockdown.

Katrina Kiaf was last seen in Ali Abbas Zafar's 2019 film ‘Bharat’, co-starring Salman Khan and Disha Patani. The actress signed a horror comedy film titled ‘Phone Bhoot’, alongside Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the film will mark Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi's first film together. It is being backed by Excel Entertainment and is slated to release this year.

Katrina Kaif will soon be seen in Rohit Shetty's cop-action drama film ‘Sooryavanshi’. The film from Rohit Shetty's cop universe stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role and it also features Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn in cameo appearances. The makers of Akshay ‘Sooryavanshi’ recently announced that the cop drama has been pushed yet again and will not release on April 30 due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra.

Katrina will also collaborate with Salman Khan for their successful espionage-action drama franchise ‘Tiger 3’ which is backed by Yash Raj Films.
