Billboard collapses at DND during thunderstorm, no injuries
New Delhi, June 10 (SocialNews.XYZ) Gusty winds on Wednesday smashed roadside hoardings and billboards in some parts of the national capital and also resulted in traffic snarls.

Delhi-Noida-Direct (DND) Flyway was choked after a billboard collapsed following the rain, said Delhi Police. No injuries were reported.

Dr Kuldeep Srivastava, head of IMD's Regional Weather Forecasting Centre said, "As thunderstorm was more intense over Noida and Ghaziabad than in Delhi, the estimated maximum wind speed could have been more than 100 kmph in these two areas."

He said the rain took place in the region under the influence of low pressure area over Bay of Bengal, cyclonic circulation over North Rajasthan and trough running from north Pakistan.

There will be a rise in maximum temperature by 2-4 degrees till June 11 when the mercury will touch 39-40 degrees, he said.

The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city hovered over 40.6 degree Celsius and 26.6 degree Celsius.
