Patna, June 24 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar on Wednesday carried out simultaneous raids at six locations connected to Pawan Kumar, a Superintending Engineer in the Building Construction Department, in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

According to an EOU official, preliminary investigation has revealed that Pawan Kumar allegedly accumulated assets worth approximately Rs 3.89 crore beyond his known sources of income.

The EOU stated that a case, registered as EOU Police Station Case No. 12/26 dated June 23, 2026, was instituted after verification of the allegations.

An FIR has been lodged under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, including Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(b) of the Act.

Pawan Kumar currently serves as a Superintending Engineer, Building Design Circle-I, Patna.

He is also holding an additional charge of director, design unit, Patna Building Division, under the Building Construction Department.

Investigators claim that the assets allegedly acquired by him exceed his known income by approximately Rs 3.89 crore, which is stated to be about 103.94 per cent higher than his legitimate earnings.

After obtaining a search warrant from the Special Vigilance Court in Patna, the EOU launched searches at multiple properties linked to the engineer.

The locations reportedly include a flat in North Sri Krishnapuri, Patna, a residential property in Tilkamanjhi locality in Bhagalpur, a flat in Sector-75, Noida, another residential property in Noida, and a flat in Dwarka, New Delhi.

The searches are being conducted under the supervision of officers of the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police and Police Inspector.

Officials are examining immovable properties, bank accounts, investments, cash holdings, jewellery, financial records and documents.

The EOU has stated that the search operations are still in progress and that a detailed statement regarding the assets recovered or documents seized will be issued after the completion of the raids.

At this stage, the allegations are part of an ongoing investigation.

The findings of the searches, subsequent enquiries, and court proceedings will determine whether the allegations of disproportionate assets are ultimately established.
