Rabri Devi must vacate 10 Circular Road bungalow: Bihar Law Minister

Patna, June 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) The political dispute surrounding the government bungalow at 10 Circular Road, currently occupied by former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, continues to intensify, with fresh remarks from members of the ruling alliance adding fuel to the controversy.

On Wednesday, Bihar’s Higher Education and Law Minister Sanjay Singh Tiger urged Rabri Devi to vacate the government residence and move into the alternative accommodation allotted to her by the state government.

Addressing the media in Patna, Sanjay Singh Tiger said Rabri Devi had already been provided with another government residence and should relocate accordingly.

He argued that government bungalows are public assets and not private property, and therefore must be vacated when alternative arrangements have been made.

The minister remarked that the continued reluctance to leave the residence reflected an excessive attachment to the property and described the stance as “childish obstinacy.”

According to him, official residences are periodically reassigned by the government for administrative reasons, and all public representatives are expected to comply with such decisions.

Responding to allegations from the opposition that the government was acting out of political vendetta, the minister dismissed the charge and maintained that the state government has provided opposition leaders with all facilities to which they are entitled.

He stated that separate accommodation, security arrangements, and other amenities have been made available for opposition leaders, including Rabri Devi.

The minister emphasised that the newly allotted residence contains all necessary facilities and that the government’s actions are being carried out in accordance with established procedures rather than political considerations.

The controversy centres on the government bungalow at 10 Circular Road in Patna, which has long been associated with former Chief Minister Rabri Devi and her family.

The state government has previously issued notices seeking the vacation of the premises, while leaders of the opposition Lalu Prasad Yadav-led camp have accused the government of targeting political opponents.

The issue has become a prominent subject of political debate between the ruling NDA and the opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

During his interaction with journalists, the minister also commented on the attack reported at the coaching institute run by Khan Sir.

He assured that strict legal action would be taken against those responsible and stated that no accused person would be spared if found guilty.

The minister said law enforcement agencies have been directed to pursue the culprits and ensure that those involved are brought to justice.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order and taking prompt action in criminal cases.
