Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey BTS Featurette Reveals Epic IMAX Vision Ahead of Release

Universal Pictures has unveiled a new behind-the-scenes featurette for The Odyssey, offering audiences an exciting glimpse into Christopher Nolan’s ambitious adaptation of one of the most influential stories ever told. Set to arrive in theaters on July 17, 2026, the film reimagines Homer’s legendary epic poem as a grand mythological action thriller, with Nolan once again pushing cinematic boundaries on an unprecedented scale.

The featurette highlights one of the film's biggest achievements: The Odyssey has been shot entirely using IMAX film cameras, marking a first for a feature film of this magnitude. Filmed across multiple locations around the world, the production aims to immerse audiences in the vast and dangerous journey of Odysseus, the legendary King of Ithaca. The filmmaker's commitment to practical filmmaking and large-format cinematography appears set to bring the ancient tale to life with breathtaking scope and visual grandeur.

Matt Damon leads the cast as Odysseus, embarking on a perilous voyage home following the Trojan War.
