Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment (NGE), a stalwart of the Indian film industry for over 75 years, has issued a formal statement addressing a recent controversy surrounding unethical review practices. Known for producing blockbuster films and maintaining a professional rapport with industry stakeholders, NGE reaffirmed its commitment to constructive dialogue and fair criticism—an essential component of artistic growth.
In the statement, NGE emphasized its unwavering support for the constitutional right to freedom of speech and expression. The production house clarified that it has never objected to independent reviews or critical feedback of its films. In fact, it acknowledged that such evaluations contribute positively to the evolution of filmmakers and the broader creative community.
However, the production house also revealed a troubling development: individuals allegedly demanding money in exchange for favorable coverage and threatening to defame NGE’s films, directors, and lead actors if their demands were not met. The company claims to possess evidence, including call recordings, supporting these allegations. As a result, the matter has been escalated to relevant law enforcement and investigative agencies for appropriate legal action.
NGE made it clear that their response is aimed specifically at those engaging in coercive and malicious practices—not at genuine reviewers or content creators. The company reiterated its respect for honest, independent voices and welcomed their role in fostering a healthier and more accountable film industry.
The statement was signed off by NGE’s legal counsel, Adv. Ravi Suryawanshi, Managing Partner at Bar & Brief Attorneys, underscoring the seriousness with which the matter is being handled.
