Anupam Kher Unveils Arvind Swami as Major Srinivasan in Tanvi The Great: “A Powerhouse of Strength and Bravery”

After introducing Boman Irani, Iain Glen, and Jackie Shroff as part of the ensemble cast of Tanvi The Great, actor-director Anupam Kher has now revealed the first look of acclaimed actor Arvind Swami as Major Srinivasan. The dramatic poster teases a powerful performance, as Swami steps into the uniformed role of a soldier embodying strength, dignity, and unwavering patriotism.

 

Sharing the poster on social media, Anupam Kher penned an emotional and heartfelt note about his longtime friend and colleague. “First time I saw Arvind Swami in Roja, I was blown away… then Bombay sealed it for me. That was the arrival of a unique actor on Indian cinema’s horizon,” wrote Kher. The two later worked together in Saath Rang Ke Sapne, where a professional relationship blossomed into a lifelong friendship. For Tanvi The Great, Kher revealed that there was no one else he could imagine playing the role of Major Srinivasan: “Arvind’s performance made me feel proud. Just like the Indian Army makes us all feel—safe, secure, dignified, and proud.”

 

Swami’s character, affectionately called Major Srini in the film, appears to be a pivotal figure in the narrative. With Kher’s glowing praise and the film’s patriotic undertone, Swami’s portrayal is already being touted as one of the standout performances to watch for. “Your character will be remembered for years to come,” Kher added, ending the tribute with a resounding “Jai Hind!”

 

Tanvi The Great is an upcoming Hindi-language drama helmed by Kher himself and produced under the banner of Anupam Kher Studio in collaboration with NFDC. The film features a powerhouse cast including Anupam Kher, Iain Glen (Game of Thrones), Jackie Shroff, Boman Irani, Shubhangi Dutt, and now, Arvind Swami.
