Chennai, March 10 (IANS) Actor-filmmaker Raghava Lawrencce, who has been given the title 'People's Superstar' by director Sairamani in his latest Tamil outing "Motta Siva Ketta Siva", says he doesn't deserve the tag.
In a Facebook post, he wrote: "My director had told me that he has a surprise for me. When I saw the title 'People's Superstar', I was indeed surprised. But I would like to state that I do not feel I deserve this title and I can only say that there is only one superstar and that is our Thalaivar Rajinikanth."
Calling himself a huge fan of Rajinikanth, he said: "It is he who introduced me to this film industry. And I first saw my Raghavendra Swamy in him. I am absolutely grateful to him in every way."
Lawrencce called the film's director and had asked him to remove the title from his name immediately.
He also added that henceforth, he will add his mother's name to his name in films.
"I have chosen my own title for my name and it will be that of my mother. I will henceforth be called 'Kanmani' Raghava Lawrencce. Nothing can bring me more happiness than my mother's name. No title can be equal to this," he said.
