Patna, June 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) Security forces achieved another major success in the Naxal-affected region of Gaya district after recovering illegal weapons and explosive materials during a joint search operation conducted in forest areas near Dumri village under the jurisdiction of Lutua Police Station.
The operation was jointly carried out by personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 47th Battalion and local police teams.
According to an official, the special operation was conducted under the leadership of Rajesh Kumar Maurya, Assistant Commandant of the 47th Battalion of the CRPF.
Security forces had received intelligence inputs that Naxal operatives had hidden weapons and explosive materials in the forest region. Acting on the information, the joint team launched an intensive search operation in the area.
During the search, security personnel recovered several items allegedly linked to Naxal activities, including a muzzle-loading gun, an empty AK-47 shell casing, electronic detonators, batteries, detonator wire, approximately 20 metres of electric wire and weapon-cleaning equipment.
Officials stated that Naxal groups frequently hide arms and explosives in dense forests and hilly terrain to evade police action and use them during attacks.
Senior officials said the recovery indicates that security forces are maintaining close surveillance over Naxal activities in the region and are actively disrupting their operational plans.
According to authorities, the timely operation may have prevented a major untoward incident allegedly being planned in the area.
All recovered materials have been handed over to Lutua Police Station for further legal action and investigation. Following the recovery, security patrols and combing operations in the region have reportedly been intensified.
Earlier, Bihar Police claimed that a series of coordinated operations carried out between January 1 and May 31, 2026, had significantly weakened criminal and Naxalite networks across the State. Bihar Special Task Force (STF) DIG Sanjay Kumar Singh stated that 10 encounters took place during the period, resulting in the deaths of three criminals and injuries to seven others.
