Bihar: ATS arrests suspect in Madhubani anti-national case

Patna, June 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) A suspect was arrested during a joint operation conducted by the Bihar Anti-Terrorism Squad in coordination with the Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad, following inputs regarding alleged anti-national and radical activities.

The arrested individual has been identified as Izharul Haque, approximately 56 years old and the son of the late Haji Abdul Ghafoor.

He is a resident of Nau Tol Sarisvapahi village under Pandaul police station in Madhubani district and was currently staying at Madrasa Noore Mohammadiya in Urdu Mohalla, Raghonagar under Nagar police station limits.

In an official statement, it was stated that the action was taken in connection with an investigation initiated by the Madhya Pradesh Special Task Force under Case No. 06/2026 dated June 12, 2026.

The case has been registered under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 13(1)(b) and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

According to preliminary investigations and technical evidence gathered so far, investigators suspect that the accused was in contact with a Pakistani handler.

During the raid, officials recovered two Android mobile phones from the accused’s possession, including a Redmi Note 5 and an OPPO handset.

Investigating agencies stated that the seized devices and other digital evidence are currently undergoing forensic and technical examination as part of the ongoing probe.

Authorities said further legal proceedings are underway, while investigative agencies continue to examine possible links, communications, and other aspects connected to the case.

Earlier, on May 22, the Bihar Anti-Terrorism Squad had uncovered a sensitive case linked to national security and arrested a man from Muzaffarpur for allegedly maintaining contact with Pakistan-based operatives.

According to an official statement of Bihar ATS, the accused, identified as Mohammad Mustafa, son of Mohammad Sagir and a resident of Ratanpur village in Muzaffarpur district, was allegedly working for anti-India elements and remained in direct contact with Pakistan-based arms smuggler Shehzad Bhatti and his associates.

Officials said the arrest was made following secret inputs received by the Special Intelligence Unit of the ATS regarding alleged anti-national activities.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused was communicating with foreign handlers through social media platforms and encrypted messaging applications.
