Anupam Kher Completes 42 Glorious Years in Cinema With Emotional Tribute to ‘Saaransh’: “GOD IS KIND!”

Veteran actor Anupam Kher marked a deeply emotional milestone as he completed 42 years in Indian cinema, celebrating the anniversary of his debut film Saaransh, which released on May 25, 1984. The actor took to social media to share a heartfelt note reflecting on his journey from a small-town boy from Shimla to one of the most respected performers in the industry.

Sharing his emotions, Kher wrote, “42 YEARS OF SAARANSH! Today, I complete 42 years in the world of cinema and entertainment. Exactly 42 years ago, on 25th May 1984, my first film ‘Saaransh’ was released. What a journey it has been. Full of struggles, victories, failures, learning, laughter, tears, friendships, and unforgettable memories.”

He further added that despite decades of work across films, Saaransh still remains the most defining chapter of his life. “But through all the ups and downs, ‘Saaransh’ remains the most defining and iconic chapter of my life. I will forever remain grateful to the Universe, to all the directors, producers, writers, technicians, co-actors, and audiences who believed in me and gave me love through all these years,” he wrote.

In his post, Kher expressed special gratitude to Rajshri Productions and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who played a pivotal role in launching his career. He acknowledged how Bhatt’s courage to cast him in an unconventional role changed his life forever, making him one of Indian cinema’s most respected actors.

“A very special and heartfelt THANK YOU to Rajshri Productions for backing a newcomer like me, and above all to Mahesh Bhatt Saab for having the courage and conviction to cast me in a role that changed my life forever. Whatever I am today is because of ‘Saaransh’,” Kher wrote in his emotional note.

Reflecting on his journey, he described it as a dream that transformed into reality over four decades of hard work and perseverance. “From a small-town boy from Shimla to a man who got to live his dream for 42 years… I can only say GOD IS KIND!” he added, concluding his message with “Har Har Mahadev!” and hashtags including #42YearsOfSaaransh and #MaheshBhatt.
