Brendan Fraser And Andrew Scott Face Impossible D-Day Decision In Intense 'Pressure' Trailer

Focus Features has unveiled the second and final trailer for its upcoming World War II thriller Pressure, and the gripping preview is already building major anticipation among movie fans. Set during the tense final hours before the historic D-Day invasion, the film explores the enormous pressure behind one of the most important military decisions in modern history.

Directed by Anthony Maras, best known for Hotel Mumbai, the film takes audiences back to June 1944, when Allied forces prepared for the largest seaborne invasion ever attempted. At the center of the story is Royal Air Force meteorologist Captain James Stagg, played by Andrew Scott, who must determine whether weather conditions are safe enough to launch the invasion that could change the course of World War II.

The trailer delivers a tense atmosphere filled with stormy skies, military strategy meetings, and emotional conflict as leaders struggle with the weight of their choices. Brendan Fraser stars as General Dwight D. Eisenhower, portraying the commander faced with the terrifying possibility of failure if the operation moves forward under dangerous weather conditions. The film’s emotional intensity appears to come not from battlefield explosions alone, but from the psychological pressure of making decisions that could affect millions of lives.

Alongside Fraser and Scott, the ensemble cast includes Kerry Condon as Captain Kay Summersby, Damian Lewis as Marshal Bernard Montgomery, and Chris Messina as Irving P. Krick. Supporting performances from Henry Ashton, Con O'Neill, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Toby Williams, and Max Croes further add depth to the high-stakes wartime drama.

The screenplay for Pressure is written by David Haig and Anthony Maras, adapting Haig’s acclaimed 2014 stage play of the same name. The story focuses on the crucial 72-hour period leading up to D-Day, where timing, weather forecasts, and military strategy became matters of life and death.

With its star-studded cast, historical backdrop, and emotionally charged storytelling, Pressure is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated war dramas of 2026. The film is scheduled to release on May 29, 2026.
