'Gullak' Season 5 Trailer Promises More Warmth, Family Chaos and Emotional Moments; Premieres June 5

The official trailer for Gullak Season 5 is finally out, and fans of the beloved Mishra family are already emotional about returning to one of India’s most loved slice-of-life worlds. Streaming exclusively on Sony LIV from June 5, 2026, the new season promises another heartwarming mix of humor, middle-class struggles, family bonds, and everyday emotional chaos.

Produced by The Viral Fever, Gullak has now created history by becoming the first Hindi original web series to reach a fifth season — a major milestone for Indian OTT storytelling. Over the years, the series has earned a loyal fanbase for its deeply relatable portrayal of middle-class life and its ability to turn ordinary moments into emotionally resonant stories.

This season’s biggest conflict revolves around the aging Mishra house itself. According to the trailer, the family home now requires major renovation, putting financial pressure on everyone in the household. Shanti Mishra, played by Geetanjali Kulkarni, suggests that the sons and their father take a house loan together — a decision that slowly begins testing the family’s finances, emotional stability, and relationships.

The trailer also introduces a significant casting change this season. Actor Anant V Joshi joins the series as Anand “Annu” Mishra, replacing Vaibhav Raj Gupta, who previously portrayed the fan-favorite eldest son. Fans online have already begun discussing the transition, with many expressing curiosity about how the character’s journey will evolve in the new season.

Annu’s storyline this time appears more mature and emotionally layered, as he navigates relationships outside the family while trying to build an independent identity. Meanwhile, younger brother Aman, played by Harsh Mayar, is shown to be quieter and more introspective this season, while secretly holding on to dreams and ambitions of his own.

The trailer also hints at fresh family dynamics with the introduction of Shanti Mishra’s brother, Pinky, adding another layer of humor and chaos to the already packed Mishra household. Returning cast members include Jameel Khan as Santosh Mishra, along with Geetanjali Kulkarni, Harsh Mayar, Sunita Rajwar, and Helly Shah.

The newly released trailer carries everything fans associate with Gullak — emotional storytelling, nostalgic family moments, witty narration, and the comforting feeling of home. “As life moves faster and responsibilities grow, the family finds itself navigating change, dreams, and new realities — together,” reads the official synopsis. “Because no matter how much life changes, some bonds always feel like home.”

Social media reactions to the trailer have already been overwhelmingly positive, with fans calling the series “comfort television” and praising TVF for maintaining the emotional authenticity of the show across multiple seasons. Many viewers also admitted that simply hearing the familiar narration and seeing the Mishra family again felt deeply nostalgic.

With relatable storytelling, grounded performances, and emotional simplicity that resonates across generations, Gullak Season 5 is shaping up to be another memorable chapter in the Mishra family’s journey.

Gullak Season 5 begins streaming on Sony LIV from June 5, 2026.
