Sanjay Dutt Is The Reason Why I Did ‘Aakhri Sawal’, Says Namashi Chakraborty

The buzz around Aakhri Sawal is getting stronger with every passing day, and the recent trailer launch in Mumbai only added more fuel to the excitement. The film, which brings together a powerful ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Amit Sadh, Neetu Chandra, and Tridha Choudhury, is already being talked about for its intense concept and bold storytelling approach.

At the event, Namashi Chakraborty, son of veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, shared an emotional and candid reason behind signing the film. He made it very clear that his decision had nothing to do with the length of his role or even the script at first—but everything to do with one name: Sanjay Dutt.

Namashi revealed the moment that changed everything for him, saying: “So, when I was offered this film, I received a call from casting director Taran Bajaj. He called me at 8:30 at night. It was November, and he simply said, ‘Sanjay Dutt is in this film.’ I immediately replied, ‘Done.’ I never asked what my character was like, or how long the role would be. I simply said, ‘I’m doing it. Now, it’s up to you guys whether you want to cast me or not.’”

He further added that working with Sanjay Dutt was a dream moment for him and something he couldn’t say no to under any circumstance: “So, believe me, I said yes without even hearing a single line of the script—because it was a dream come true. And to share the screen with him was… an absolute honor. In my opinion, Sanjay Dutt is the most humble actor I have worked with during my seven years in this industry. My dad and mom love him dearly as well; they have been friends for years.”

Namashi also expressed gratitude towards the entire creative team, appreciating writer Utkarsh Naithani, producer Nikhil Nanda, and director Abhijeet Mohan Warang for bringing such a bold and unconventional story to life. He described the film as a “hard-hitting” experience that goes beyond typical action drama, focusing instead on a high-stakes debate-style narrative that reflects issues relevant to India’s youth.

With its unique concept and powerful cast, Aakhri Sawal is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2026. The film is slated for a theatrical release on 15 May 2026, and expectations are already running high.
