Colombian officials said that investigations into the shooting of Sen. Miguel Uribe Turbay have begun.

Uribe Turbay, a conservative presidential hopeful, was in serious condition Sunday following surgery for a gunshot wound at a political rally a day earlier, Bogotas mayor said.
