Zee Studios Unveils Trailer for Kapkapiii, a Horror-Comedy Inspired by Real Events

Zee Studios has released the official trailer for Kapkapiii, a Hindi-language horror comedy set to hit cinemas on May 23, 2025. Directed by the late Sangeeth Sivan, the film promises a spooky yet laugh-out-loud experience, blending supernatural thrills with absurdist humor. In the teaser caption, Zee Studios wrote, “They thought it was just a game… the spirits had other plans. In this trying month we all need some laughs!” — a nod to the film’s timely attempt to bring levity alongside chills.

 

Kapkapiii is a remake of the 2023 Malayalam cult hit Romancham, and follows a group of friends who accidentally invite a vengeful spirit into their lives after toying with an ouija board. What begins as a joke quickly turns into a chaotic spiral of hauntings and hilarity. Drawing inspiration from true events, the film taps into real-life paranormal curiosity, aiming to thrill and entertain viewers who love a good scare with a side of comedy.

 

The film features a vibrant ensemble cast led by Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, and Siddhi Idnani, alongside Sonia Rathee, Abishek Kumar, Zakir Hussain, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, and others. Produced by Jayesh Patel and Umesh Kr Bansal under Bravo Entertainment and presented by Zee Studios, Kapkapiii marks one of the final projects helmed by Sangeeth Sivan, known for his flair in crafting genre-blending narratives.
