Concentration, perseverance keys to success: Tripura CM

Agartala, Aug 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday urged students to study with concentration and remain committed to their goals, saying that perseverance and the pursuit of knowledge are essential for success in today’s competitive environment.

“Concentration is the ladder to success. The more one studies and remains steadfast towards one’s goal, the more knowledge one will be able to acquire,” Saha said after laying the foundation stone for and inaugurating various development programmes at PM-Shri A.D. Nagar English Medium School here.

The Chief Minister said that gaining knowledge in various subjects is the main tool to establish oneself in the current competitive environment.

At the beginning of the programme, the Chief Minister, along with other guests, laid the foundation stone for various infrastructure development works for Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan, Baradowali XII Class School, Hapania XII Class School and Charipara XII Class School through a central ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ programme.

Saha, who also holds the Elementary and Secondary Education portfolios, launched a pilot project to design analysis-based interactive virtual classrooms for 240 remote schools in various districts of the state.

He also launched the digitalisation of land maps in the Agartala Municipal Corporation area under the School Education Department's initiative.

Addressing the students present at the event, the Chief Minister shared experiences from his student days and advised them to remain focused on their studies and committed to their goals.

He said the present government is giving utmost importance to quality education and healthcare, along with infrastructure development across the state.

“The government’s goal is to provide them with all kinds of facilities and security after they come to school. For this purpose, the concerned department has been instructed to collect the latest information about boundary walls, drinking water facilities, seating benches, mid-day meals and toilets in every school in the state,” he said.

Saha said that after collecting the information, the government would take effective steps to address the problems faced by schools. He added that the government has set a goal of developing Baradowali Higher Secondary School as a model school in the future.

The Chief Minister also referred to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led exam preparation programme ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ and said that its main objective is to ensure that students do not suffer from excessive stress and fatigue due to examination pressure.

“Overcoming fatigue and moving towards one’s success is an indication of a strong mindset and confidence. Those who can acquire this strong mindset and confidence will move forward in the future,” he said.

The Chief Minister advised students to pay close attention to their teachers in classrooms and make sincere efforts in their studies, saying that there would then be no need for separate tuition.

He also urged parents to focus on developing their children into good human beings instead of pushing them into a race for higher marks.

Saha said that virtual classrooms have been started in 240 schools across the state as part of the government’s efforts to ensure quality education reaches students in remote areas.

“As a result, students from remote areas will be able to take lessons in Maths, Science and English from teachers based in the city through live classes. Teachers will conduct these classes from a centrally established studio. The classes will be two-way, meaning students will also be able to ask questions whenever necessary,” he said.

The Chief Minister said the initiative aims to ensure that students in remote areas do not discontinue their studies due to a lack of adequate educational resources. He said as many as 40,000 students are expected to benefit from the virtual classroom initiative.

Regarding the land mapping programme, the Chief Minister said that the initiative would enable land to be measured at the micro level.

“This is a dream project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is currently being launched as a pilot project in the Agartala Municipal Corporation area. This programme will make it possible to remove the complexities involved in land measurement by using various modern methods,” he said.

Secretary of the Urban Development Department Milind Ramteke, Director of the Education Department Samit Roy Chowdhury, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, and MLA Meena Rani Sarkar were present at the programme.
