Jaipur, July 6 (SocialNews.XYZ) Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Monday launched the 'Sahkar Van' (Cooperative Forest) project for Jaipur's Sumel village during the 5th Foundation Day ceremony of the Ministry of Cooperation at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, who attended the event, highlighted Rajasthan's innovations and achievements in the cooperative sector. The Chief Minister said the double-engine government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is translating the vision of "Sahkar Se Samriddhi" (Prosperity through Cooperation) into reality.
CM Sharma was the only Chief Minister from across the country to participate in the national event, where Rajasthan's cooperative initiatives received national recognition.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the cooperative movement has emerged as a powerful instrument for inclusive development and economic empowerment. He noted that the Ministry of Cooperation, established under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has provided a new direction to the country's cooperative sector and strengthened its role in rural development, employment generation and farmers' prosperity.
The Chief Minister said Rajasthan has undertaken several innovative initiatives and administrative reforms to strengthen the cooperative sector.
These efforts, he said, have improved governance, enhanced transparency and expanded the reach of cooperative institutions, enabling them to contribute more effectively to the socio-economic development of the state.
During the programme, Union Minister Amit Shah launched the 'Sahkar Van' project for Sumel village in Jaipur, an initiative aimed at promoting environmental conservation through the cooperative movement. The project reflects the government's commitment to integrating ecological sustainability with community participation and cooperative development.
Earlier, Chief Minister Sharma welcomed Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah by presenting him with a bouquet. He said Amit Shah's resolve to provide a new direction to the country's rural and economic development through the cooperative movement is inspiring and has accelerated the transformation of the sector across India.
The event witnessed the participation of senior Union government officials, representatives of cooperative institutions from across the country and other dignitaries.
Rajasthan's achievements in the cooperative sector were showcased on the national platform, highlighting the state's efforts to strengthen cooperative institutions and contribute to the vision of a self-reliant and prosperous India.
