The Himanshu Roy Legacy Awards 2026 turned into a grand convergence of cinema, sports, politics, and public service as some of India’s most respected personalities gathered in Mumbai on June 23, 2026. The evening, organized by the Himanshu Roy Foundation led by Bhavna Roy and Amish Tripathi, paid tribute to the enduring legacy of late IPS officer Himanshu Roy, former Maharashtra ATS Chief, while honoring individuals who made exceptional contributions to society.

The red carpet saw a powerful mix of dignitaries and celebrities. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis presided over the ceremony, adding political significance to the event. Cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar brought timeless grace, while actor Ravi Dubey made a stylish appearance ahead of his much-talked-about role as Lakshman. The presence of versatile performer Vineet Kumar Singh added cinematic depth to the evening.

Television favourite Sourabh Raaj Jain was also seen on the red carpet, appreciating the foundation’s efforts to honour real-life heroes. Meanwhile, Arpit Ranka joined fellow television stars, making it a strong representation from the entertainment industry.

The ceremony itself focused on celebrating excellence across three key fields—national security, medicine, and Indian classical music. In national security, the family of Martyr ASI Tukaram Ombale was honoured for his extraordinary sacrifice, with his daughter Vandana Ombale Patane receiving recognition on his behalf. In medicine, renowned specialists Dr Zarir Udwadia and Dr Shekhar Bhojraj were applauded for their life-saving contributions to healthcare.

The music segment honoured celebrated classical artists including Padma Shri Dr Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, Madhup Mudgal, and Smt. Manisha Mudgal for their dedication to preserving India’s rich cultural heritage. Each award carried a cash prize of ₹5 lakh, further underlining the foundation’s commitment to meaningful recognition.

A major highlight of the evening was the launch of the “Himanshu Roy Kit”, a cancer detection initiative designed to promote early diagnosis and preventive healthcare, symbolizing a practical continuation of the late officer’s legacy.

Senior political leaders including Ashish Shelar and Mangal Prabhat Lodha also attended the event, alongside IPS officer Krishna Prakash, making the ceremony a rare blend of governance, public service, and entertainment under one roof.

The Himanshu Roy Legacy Awards 2026 ultimately stood out not just as an award function, but as a tribute to courage, excellence, and service—bringing together India’s most influential voices in one memorable evening.
