Acclaimed film director Jean-Marc Vallée passed away on Sunday near Quebec City, Canada, his production company's publicist confirmed the news without citing the reasons.
Nicole Kidman, who has worked with Jean in series Big Little Lies, took to her social media profile and shared some on unseen pictures from the sets of the series.
She wrote, “It’s hard to imagine someone as vital, energetic and present as Jean-Marc being gone. I'm shattered. He was at the center of my creative universe and I can’t overstate his significance to me”
“Jean-Marc was not only responsible for some of the most rewarding professional experiences of my career, but his friendship, kindness and love were an inspiring force I will carry with me. I will always cherish those nights filming above the crashing waves of Big Sur…It doesn’t get better than that. I am forever grateful for my time shared with this extraordinary human. Vallée entered television production in 2017 as executive producer of the HBO drama "Big Little Lies." He also directed the entire first season of the series, winning an Emmy.
Vallée later executive produced the series "Sharp Objects," also for HBO, and directed every episode.
