We're fully prepared to tackle even the worst: Raghav Chadha

New Delhi, May 18 (SocialNews.XYZ) Soon after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced new guidelines for the fourth phase of lockdown amid the Covid-19 pandemic, AAP legislator Raghav Chadha claimed that the government used this period to revamp the health infrastructure and is now "fully prepared to tackle even the worst possibilities".

Speaking to IANS, the lawmaker said, "Our government used this period to ramp up the health infrastructure by ensuring availability of all supplies, including PPE kits, ventilators etc. We are now fully prepared to tackle even the worst of possibilities."

"This is going to be a long haul and the end may not be in sight yet. But, the future does not look as bleak. In last 57 days of lockdown, we have built health infrastructure and capacities to deal with the situation, even if things go from bad to worse.

"We as a country have set an example that if we stand together, it is a matter of time before light appears at the end of the tunnel. Ultimately India will win, and Covid-19 will lose," said the AAP MLA from Rajinder Nagar.

"We hope economic activities would resume soon and we will be able to look after both 'Jaan Bhi' and 'Jahaan Bhi'," he added.

Mentioning that lockdown is no permanent solution to the deadly coronavirus, Chadha said that this period was utilised to equip the health infrastructure.

"Now we have to slowly move towards reopening businesses and doing away with the lockdown though the basic safety measures like masks and social distancing shall be kept in place," he said.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced the guidelines for lockdown 4.0, allowing DTC buses in the city with a maximum of 20 passengers. Kejriwal said while buses and autos will be allowed with restrictions, Metro services will remain suspended.

He said auto-rickshaw, e-rickshaw, cycle-rickshaws will be allowed with one passenger; taxis and cabs will be allowed with two passengers; and RTVs to be allowed with 11 passengers.
