Indrani Mukerjea Not Suffering from Dengue

Indrani Mukerjea Not Suffering from DengueMumbai, Oct 29 (IANS) Sheena Bora murder case accused Indrani Mukerjea, admitted to Sir J.J. Hospital here for treatment of suspected dengue, is not suffering form the mosquito-borne vector, officials said on Thursday.

The medical and blood test reports of Indrani - one of the three prime accused in the murder of her daughter Sheena Bora - received on Thursday indicated she was not suffering from dengue, hospital dean Dr T.P. Lahane told media persons.

She was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after she complained of high fever and other dengue-related symptoms for a week.

Earlier, hospital doctors examined her inside Byculla Jail on Wednesday morning where she is lodged in judicial custody.

They recommended she be shifted to the hospital for proper medical treatment.

Prison authorities submitted a report to Magistrate R.V. Adone, saying her blood platelets had plummeted to 65,000 and she may be suffering from dengue.

Lahane said a decision on her discharge from the hospital would be taken on Thursday evening after a check of her platelets' count.

On October 3, Indrani was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. She spent four days in the intensive care unit.

Indrani, her ex-husband husband Sanjeev Kumar and her former driver Shyamvar Rai were arrested in August in connection with the killing of her 24-year-old daughter Sheena in April 2012 and disposal of her partly-burnt body in the forest near Raigad in Maharashtra.

The trio has been in custody for the past over two months. The case has been taken over by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
