Sharing the poster on social media, Pen Movies wrote, “A Face. A Legend. A Warrior. Here is the FIRST LOOK of Raghava Lawrence as Mahaveer Karna.” The makers also announced the film as an epic live-action saga, with Lawrence stepping into mythology for the first time as the iconic Karna.
In the poster, Raghava Lawrence can be seen sporting elaborate golden armour, while a fiery backdrop adds to the intensity of his warrior persona. The look immediately sets the tone for a grand mythological spectacle, with the actor appearing almost unrecognisable in the imposing avatar.
Directed by Ramesh Varma, Mahaveer Karna is being mounted on an ambitious scale by Pen Studios. The film is being presented as a hybrid production that combines live-action performances with advanced visual effects, aiming to bring the world of the Mahabharata to the big screen with a contemporary cinematic treatment.
For Raghava Lawrence, the project also marks a significant departure from his previous work as he takes on a character deeply rooted in Indian mythology. Karna remains one of the Mahabharata’s most complex and celebrated warriors, known for his valour, loyalty, generosity and tragic journey. That makes Lawrence’s portrayal one of the major attractions of the film.
Mahaveer Karna is planned as a pan-India theatrical release in 2027, with the film set to reach audiences in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
