Rohed Khan on Amrapali Dubey Chemistry in Bigg Boss 20: ‘I Really Liked Her, But I Never Managed to Bring It Up’

Bigg Boss 20 may have been a short ride for Afghanistan-born Austrian actor and model Rohed Khan, but the reality show certainly gave him enough moments to talk about after his early exit. From his rule-breaking eviction to his equation with his friends inside the house, Rohed opened up about everything—and when the conversation turned to his chemistry with Amrapali Dubey, things got particularly interesting. The actor admitted that he really liked her but simply did not get enough time to make a move.

Talking about Amrapali’s affectionate teasing and the moments when he was seen blushing, Rohed said, “Look, I don't know any man on this planet who wouldn't enjoy that, and I’m no different. I really like it when a superstar like Amrapali-ji makes comments like that—or when Rohit and Love call me ‘Jiju’ (brother-in-law). Obviously, it feels good. But 14 days was a bit too short a time to flirt, at least on my end, because I’m a late bloomer. It takes me a long time to open up when I do something. I really liked her, but I never managed to bring it up. So, if I had stayed in Bigg Boss longer, perhaps that would have happened too, or maybe I would have had more conversations with Kanika-ji. You know what I mean?”

And there’s the missed opportunity! Rohed’s admission makes those playful moments with Amrapali look a little more interesting in hindsight. While the show gave viewers glimpses of their chemistry, the actor revealed that his reserved nature and the limited time inside the house meant he never actually got around to expressing what he felt. With only 14 days in the game, his potential equation with Amrapali was left hanging in the air.

But romance and teasing weren’t the only things Rohed had to explain after his eviction. Asked what went wrong and why his personality did not fully come across on the show, the actor took responsibility for his exit. “Well, look, if you go into someone's house and break their rules, you have to face the consequences. I did too. To be honest, I didn't even know that discussing nominations wasn't allowed. I hadn't paid enough attention to that rule. When the video played inside, I realized, ‘Oh shit, I did something wrong. Now I need to read the house rules and regulations.’ But there's another point: many people discussed this topic, but they did so in a more subtle or refined manner. I, being the innocent, straightforward guy I am, was openly saying, ‘I'm going to nominate you for this reason, that reason, and the other.’ So, I think things just went a bit sideways for me. But it’s fair—if you came to my house and I forbade smoking, but you smoked anyway—and did it openly—I’d kick you out myself.”

Rohed also addressed the discussion around his friend circle and the so-called “Bully Gang” narrative inside the house. He strongly pushed back against the idea that his friends deliberately picked fights, while explaining how he viewed some of the confrontations that played out on the show. “Well, first of all, I had a great bond with everyone—especially Asim, Gautam, and Yuvraj. I don't think I ever acted unfairly towards anyone. In that episode where they were discussing who belonged to the ‘bully gang,’ Aman said that Rohit bhai wasn't part of it because he doesn't bully people. I want to share something about this based on my own first-hand experience: I never saw my guys—my brothers—go out of their way to pick a fight with anyone. Asif didn't start any of the fights he was involved in. For example, if Love is walking somewhere and someone calls out, ‘You sycophant!’ (or ‘chamchi’), she’s obviously going to snap back. You know? So, when...I came out and saw that the ‘Bully Gang’ narrative was playing out, I was like, ‘Wait, what is this?’ If you get into a fight with someone and call them a ‘sycophant’ (chamcha), you have to be ready to be called something back, right? I never bullied anyone. And in a fight, you don't exactly offer pleasantries—it’s not like, ‘Oh, you called me a sycophant? Here, have a Gulab Jamun.’ That’s not how it works.”

Rohed didn’t hold back when asked who he felt was putting on an act inside the house. Pointing towards Aman, he said, “I think Aman is being a bit fake. Whenever I watched him, it felt like I was watching a TV serial. You know, the expressions he gave were very over-the-top. Perhaps that’s because he’s worked so much in the industry that it has become part of his persona.” His candid take adds another layer to his post-Bigg Boss comments, particularly after spending such a short time inside the house.

Although Rohed Khan’s Bigg Boss 20 journey ended much earlier than he may have expected, his exit has left behind plenty of talking points—from the nomination-rule controversy and the “Bully Gang” debate to the intriguing Amrapali Dubey connection. And if his own words are anything to go by, 14 days simply weren’t enough for the late-blooming Rohed to reveal everything he had in mind. Whether his equation with Amrapali was heading towards something more or remained just a playful connection, viewers now have plenty of room to wonder what might have happened had he stayed a little longer.
