Netflix has unveiled the full official trailer for East of Eden, its ambitious new adaptation of John Steinbeck's iconic novel. Led by Florence Pugh as the unforgettable and morally complex Cathy Ames, the limited series offers a fresh perspective on one of American literature's most enduring family sagas. Rather than simply revisiting a familiar classic, the new adaptation puts Cathy at the centre of the story, exploring her motivations, her darkness and the impact she has on generations of the Trask family.

Created by Zoe Kazan, East of Eden follows the multigenerational Trask family as their lives become increasingly tangled in love, rivalry, ambition and questions of good and evil. At the heart of the story is Cathy Ames, whose presence leaves a lasting mark on the men around her, particularly brothers Adam and Charles Trask. Florence Pugh takes on the challenging role of Cathy, bringing a complicated antihero to life as the character attempts to understand her place in a world she sees as deeply troubled.
