Tikamgarh, Aug 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday directed government officials to prepare a development roadmap for Tikamgarh that turns the district's local resources, traditional skills and agricultural and livestock potential into employment and income opportunities for its people.
Chairing a meeting of the District Development Advisory Committee during his 'Mukhyamantri Jan-Vishwas Abhiyan' visit, Chief Minister Yadav said local products and traditional skills should be developed and promoted in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Vocal for Local' principle to secure wider national and international markets.
He added that the development plan should be based on Tikamgarh's local needs, available resources, traditional skills, innovations and suggestions from public representatives and other stakeholders.
"Every district has its own resources, skills and possibilities. These local strengths must be converted into economic opportunities so that the youth can get better avenues for employment and self-employment," CM Yadav said.
He asked officials to identify successful local initiatives and innovations and implement them systematically to accelerate economic activity in the district.
The Chief Minister also encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to take advantage of new industrial policies and credit-linked schemes.
Chief Minister Yadav called for greater support to traditional artisans, particularly those involved in brass idol-making, by creating better market linkages and connecting their skills with wider economic activity.
He also stressed the need to make animal husbandry a profitable activity for rural families.
Officials were directed to bring more milk producers and cattle rearers into the cooperative system and promote high-quality cattle breeding and breed improvement in gaushalas.
"Animal husbandry should become a profitable activity alongside agriculture. The availability of high-quality heifers will benefit cattle rearers and help increase their income," the Chief Minister said.
The meeting also focused on developing Tikamgarh's religious and tourism potential, particularly Kundeshwar Dham, and linking tourism activities with local employment and economic opportunities.
The District Development Advisory Committee will provide recommendations for the district's long-term development plan covering industry, trade, agriculture, water-body conservation, exports, minerals, environment and employment.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Yadav also heard grievances registered through the CM Helpline and ordered the suspension of District Registrar (Cooperatives) S.K. Kaushik for alleged negligence.
The action followed a complaint that the Mavai branch of a cooperative bank had failed to transfer funds to the nominee's account after the death of Ranibai, mother of complainant Dayaram Lodhi.
