Hyderabad, July 10 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, on Friday accused the Congress government in Telangana of trying to protect Barrister Fatima Owaisi Educational Campus allegedly constructed in a lake in Hyderabad.
Bandi Sanjay said that the Congress government can bulldoze the homes of poor in the name of Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) but failed to notice an alleged encroachment by leaders of its friendly party -- All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).
"The entire world can see that Owaisi's college stands on a lake, yet the Congress government continues to pretend otherwise. They can bulldoze the homes of the poor in the name of HYDRAA, but somehow fail to notice an alleged encroachment that's visible to everyone," the MoS wrote on social media platform X.
"It's time they (Congress government) got their eyesight checked. I request every BJP karyakarta to organise free eye check-up camps for Congress leaders. If they still can't see the lake after that, the problem isn't their eyesight. It's their politics. Wherever the Congress decides to draw its political rangoli, the FTL line seems to magically shift to suit its friends," he said.
Bandi Sanjay lashed out at the state government, a day after it reportedly told the High Court that the Fatima Owaisi Educational Campus at Bandlaguda is not located within the notified Full Tank Level (FTL) of Salkam Cheruvu, citing the findings of a joint survey.
Appearing for the state in the public interest litigation (PIL) concerning alleged encroachments around Salkam Cheruvu, Additional Advocate General Imran Khan submitted that a joint survey conducted by multiple departments found that the educational institutions were outside the lake's notified FTL.
He told the court that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) had requested HYDRAA to provide a superimposed FTL map of the lake for further action.
Meanwhile, Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) leader K. Kavitha also criticised the Congress-led state government over the issue.
She alleged that the A. Revanth Reddy-led government, which was crushing Hyderabad's poor under bulldozers in the name of HYDRAA, was misleading the courts to protect Owaisi's educational institutions.
"A college built by encroaching on a lake isn't visible to the Chief Minister even when the whole world is watching it," K. Kavitha said and advised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to immediately undergo an eye-checkup.
AIMIM leader in Telangana Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi, said on July 6 that he would continue to build educational institutions and declared that if one institution was demolished, he would build 10.
The MLA from Chandrayangutta Assembly constituency made the statement after the Telangana High Court granted state authorities one week to place all relevant records before regarding Barrister Fatima Owaisi Educational KG-PG Campus allegedly constructed within the Salkam Cheruvu lake area.
"If you demolish one institution, I will build 10," Akbaruddin Owaisi said, adding his commitment to provide free education to poor will not be weakened by such actions.
He alleged that some people were using their authority to pressure him and target educational institutions linked to him.
"Even if you demolish the buildings, I will teach the children under the open sky but will not bow before you," the AIMIM MLA said while addressing an event of his educational institutions.
