Patna, May 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) Former MP and 'Bahubali' leader, Anand Mohan, has once again publicly expressed dissatisfaction with the leadership of Janata Dal (United), even after the Bihar government granted Deputy Minister status to his son, Chetan Anand.
Speaking to the media in Patna, Anand Mohan asserted that he stands firmly by every statement he makes and accused sections of the media of selectively presenting his remarks.
“I speak with deliberation and forethought. I stand by every statement I make,” he said.
Responding to questions regarding his earlier controversial remarks about “thaili ki rajneeti (bribe-based politics)", Anand Mohan sharply criticised his detractors.
“I do not deem it necessary to respond to every barking dog,” he said.
In recent days, he has repeatedly alleged that influential leaders within the JD(U) distribute party positions and ministerial opportunities based on favouritism and monetary influence.
He further stated, “Fundamental questions deserve direct answers; they should not be twisted, diverted, or diluted.”
Political observers believe Anand Mohan is unhappy that his son was not inducted into the Bihar Cabinet as a full minister.
Reacting to Chetan Anand being accorded Deputy Minister status, Anand Mohan mocked the designation, saying, “I have already stated that a Deputy Chief Minister is merely a silent Chief Minister. What then is a Deputy Minister?”
When questioned about the possibility of launching a new political party, Anand Mohan avoided giving a direct response and instead replied, “Let the time come, and I shall tell you. Why should I reveal right now what lies within my heart?”
The statement has fueled speculation regarding possible political realignment or rebellion within the JD(U).
Anand Mohan also claimed that certain leaders within the JD(U) had undermined the legacy and political efforts of Nitish Kumar.
He stated, “Let those dishonest individuals—who have undone the lifelong penance and hard work of Nitish Kumar—be the ones to quit the JD(U).”
Without naming anyone directly, he hinted that individuals who were allegedly granted election tickets before even formally joining the party currently wield influence within the organisation.
Political circles have long speculated about Anand Mohan’s strained relations with senior JD(U) leaders such as Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh and Sanjay Jha.
Anand Mohan is a prominent and controversial figure in Bihar politics, particularly influential in the Mithilanchal region.
He was convicted in the 1994 murder case of Gopalganj DM G. Krishnaiah and was sentenced to life imprisonment before being released in 2023.
His wife, Lovely Anand, is currently a Member of Parliament, while his son Chetan Anand serves as a JD(U) MLA.
