Shalin Bhanot Promises "Double the Action, Double the Drama" in 'Inspector Avinash Season 2'

Actor Shalin Bhanot is gearing up for the return of the gritty crime drama Inspector Avinash Season 2, where he plays a pivotal role alongside Randeep Hooda, who reprises his role as the intense Uttar Pradesh super-cop Avinash Mishra. The upcoming season continues its deep dive into crime syndicates and political corruption in 1990s Uttar Pradesh, promising a darker, more action-packed narrative when it premieres on May 15, 2026 on JioHotstar.

Speaking about what audiences can expect this time, Shalin Bhanot teased a bigger and more intense experience. “The biggest surprise will be that, building upon what they witnessed in Season 1—and the immense love they showered upon it, which is precisely why Season 2 is happening—they will now witness double the excitement and double the fun. There will be double the action, double the drama, and sequences that are truly larger than life. Furthermore, the real-time nuances of the many intricate twists and turns that actually unfolded in UP will be vividly portrayed in this season,” he said, hinting at a more grounded yet high-stakes storyline.

The actor also highlighted the scale and intensity of the action sequences, crediting veteran action director Mr. Vijayan for elevating the experience. “We undertook extensive preparation for the action sequences. We were incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a renowned action director from the South—Mr. Vijayan. We got the chance to collaborate with Mr. Vijayan, a veteran who has choreographed action for over 350 films. He has designed action sequences for none other than Rajinikanth Sir and has worked on numerous blockbuster movies. So, getting the opportunity to perform action sequences under his guidance was a privilege. His approach to action has a very distinct tone and style; consequently, rigorous preparation was essential, and the resulting action is absolutely mind-blowing,” he added.

Reflecting on the emotional depth required for his role, Shalin emphasized the importance of honesty in performance. “Honestly, portraying any character is inherently difficult. If you manage to do justice to the role—to truly justify it—then it is a victory for you. Conversely, if you fail to justify it, the audience won't hesitate to tear you apart! Therefore, you must approach the role with absolute sincerity and hard work. Whether the character is based on a real person, inspired by reality, or entirely fictional, you must present it to the public with complete honesty. If you can successfully convey what you are feeling internally—or allow the audience to truly connect with the emotional journey your character is undergoing—then you have truly won,” he explained.

The series, directed by Neeraj Pathak and co-written by Sanjay Masoom and Sameer Arora, also stars Urvashi Rautela, Amit Sial, Abhimanyu Singh, Shalin Bhanot, and Freddy Daruwala. Jointly produced by Jio Studios, Gold Mountain Pictures, and Spotless Films, Inspector Avinash Season 2 is set to raise the stakes with larger-than-life action, deeper storytelling, and a more intense emotional core.
