Guwahati, April 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council on Tuesday declared the results of the Higher Secondary (HS) Final Examinations, with the state recording an overall pass percentage of 81.54 per cent across all streams.
Among the four streams, Science emerged as the best-performing category with a pass percentage of 89.79 per cent. Commerce followed with 81.13 per cent, while Arts registered 79.54 per cent. The Vocational stream recorded a pass percentage of 74.20 per cent.
Officials said a total of 3,22,723 candidates had appeared for the examinations held across Assam this year.
In the Arts stream, Baksa district topped the state with an impressive pass percentage of 94.29 per cent. Chirang district secured the second position with 92.99 per cent, reflecting strong performances from the lower Assam districts. The Arts stream also accounted for the highest number of successful candidates. A total of 1,91,798 students cleared the examinations, including 54,755 in the first division, 79,181 in the second division and 57,862 in the third division.
In the Commerce stream, 15,796 students passed the examination. Of them, 7,787 candidates secured first division, while 5,694 were placed in the second division and 2,315 in the third division.
The Science stream recorded 54,474 successful candidates. Of these, 34,079 students obtained first division marks, 17,777 secured second division and 2,618 were placed in the third division.
In the Vocational stream, 1,465 candidates appeared for the examination. Detailed division-wise figures for the stream were yet to be highlighted in the official announcement.
The council also reported disciplinary and attendance-related figures during the conduct of the examinations.
According to officials, 190 candidates were expelled on charges of malpractice, while 8,075 candidates remained absent during the examination process.
The declaration of results has brought relief and excitement to lakhs of students and parents across the state, with successful candidates now preparing for admissions to undergraduate courses and other professional programmes.
Students can access their marksheets through the official portals notified by the council and other authorised digital platforms.
