New Delhi, April 13 (SocialNews.XYZ) Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu on Monday praised the Delhi Traffic Police for engaging with nearly 6,000 residents and civic agencies over 30 meetings to resolve issues related to pedestrian safety and unauthorised parking.

Sandhu welcomed the launch of a special project by the traffic police to deliver citizen-centric solutions and make roads smoother, safer and organised.

In a post on X, the LG said, “Following my visit and guidance on April 2, I am pleased to note that @dtptraffic has launched Project SANGAM - Synergistic Action & Networked Governance for Area Mobility.”

“Rooted in the philosophy of collaborative governance, this initiative seeks to deliver citizen-centric, ground-up traffic solutions by actively involving communities in the decision-making process,” said Sandhu.

“By bringing together RWAs, MWAs, and civic agencies such as PWD and MCD on a common platform. The project facilitates real-time resolution of issues ranging from unauthorised parking to pedestrian safety,” he said.

The LG said that, so far, 30 meetings have been conducted across key areas, including Connaught Place, Saket, and Karol Bagh, engaging over 6,000 residents in the process.

“This proactive and inclusive approach ensures that all stakeholders work together towards making Delhi’s roads smoother, safer, and more organised,” he said.

On April 2, the LG reviewed mobility and digital traffic management issues with senior officials, stressing the need to scale up the use of AI and community participation for congestion-free roads.

During his interaction with Delhi Traffic Police personnel, the L-G underlined their critical role in positioning the city as a global investment and tourism hub, a statement said.

In a post on social media platform X, L-G Sandhu said, "A productive session at the Todapur facility of @dtptraffic today. Reviewed progress of the Digital Enforcement framework and stressed scaling up Artificial Intelligence for 24/7 transparent monitoring and scientific management of peak-hour traffic."

"Traffic snarls not only waste time and fuel but also worsen pollution. Emphasised greater on-ground visibility of traffic police, especially at congestion hotspots, to ensure smoother flow and act as a deterrent," he noted.
