During the interaction, when asked about the key ingredient for sustaining a long career in the industry, Akanksha shared a detailed perspective on evolution and acceptance. She said, “I think—and this is something I always tell people—that you cannot operate with a fixed mindset. The person I was 10 years ago is not the person I am today. And the person I might become in the future is not the person I am today. So, you have to keep up with the times. Keep updating yourself. You must accept—and accept wholeheartedly and happily—that, yes, this is a change. This is a necessity now, and I have to embrace it. Some people lack this sense of acceptance. They might say, "No way! We never used to do this back then, so why should we do it now?" Consequently, the people who started out with me are no longer visible in the market today—precisely because they held onto that rigid mindset. They thought, "I’m not going to do all this stuff. That’s just not for me." But that approach doesn't work anymore; you have to adapt yourself slightly as time goes by.”
She further elaborated on the importance of staying prepared and open to opportunities in a fast-moving industry. “You have to be willing to accept certain things. For instance, the clothes we wore 15 years ago aren't the clothes we wear today. If trends in clothing, makeup, and hairstyles have changed, then why shouldn't you update your mindset regarding other aspects of your life? I believe that is the primary reason why some people get left behind—they simply do not want to change with the times; they refuse to update themselves. I tell this to everyone—my team, and everyone around me: please, always be ready. You could receive a call at any moment. You won't be given extra time to prepare; if you ask for time, the opportunity will simply go to someone else. You have to be prepared at all times,” she added.
Akanksha also highlighted how reinvention can lead to major career comebacks, pointing out current industry examples. She said, “Take people like Akshaye Khanna—and there are so many other examples, like Bobby Deol and others—I think they are currently doing the best work of their careers. They are truly at their peak right now. So, you just never know; nothing ever truly comes to an end. You can never predict the future—you just have to keep moving forward.”
Her remarks come at a time when both actors she mentioned are being widely praised for their renewed screen presence and impactful performances in recent projects, marking strong second innings in their careers.
On the work front, Saadi Farmaish continues to gain traction online as a soulful yet modern musical track featuring Akanksha Puri and Ashmit Patel. The song is sung by Ravish Khanna and Jagtinder Singh Sidhu, with music composed by Muzik Amy, and has been receiving positive response for its emotional tone and contemporary appeal.
