Yash Raj Films Unveils Second Song Barbaad from Saiyaara, an Intense Tale of Love and Longing

Yash Raj Films has dropped the second single, Barbaad, from its highly anticipated romantic drama Saiyaara, and the track is already tugging at heartstrings. Captioned with the evocative line, “Who says love can’t consume you and still leave you wanting for more?”, the song encapsulates the emotional depth of a love that devastates yet leaves one yearning. Sung soulfully by Jubin Nautiyal, with music and lyrics by Rishabh Kant aka The Rish, Barbaad blends haunting melodies with raw emotion, setting the tone for what promises to be a heartbreak-heavy narrative.

 

The film, releasing on July 18, marks a significant debut for Ahaan Panday—cousin of actress Ananya Panday—and introduces Aneet Padda as the female lead. Directed by Mohit Suri, known for crafting intense, music-driven love stories like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, Saiyaara appears to stay true to his signature style—where passion and pain are tightly entwined. The visuals accompanying Barbaad feature moments of closeness and conflict between the leads, hinting at a complex, possibly doomed relationship at the film’s core.

 

Produced by YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani, this is the first film under his banner leadership, and it carries both the legacy of YRF and the vision of a new chapter.
