Bollywood Pays Tribute to Nirmal Kapoor at 13th-Day Ceremony in Mumbai

Mumbai witnessed a solemn gathering of Bollywood’s most notable personalities as the Kapoor family held the 13th-day ritual in memory of Nirmal Kapoor, the matriarch and mother of actors Anil Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, and Sanjay Kapoor. She passed away at the age of 90 on a Friday, leaving behind a legacy deeply rooted in love, family, and resilience. The ceremony, rooted in tradition and reverence, drew an outpouring of emotional support from family, friends, and the film fraternity.

 

Anil Kapoor, visibly moved by the loss, welcomed guests with grace, his gratitude evident despite the heaviness of grief. His brother Sanjay Kapoor was also present at their family residence, quietly reflecting on the bond he shared with their mother. Boney Kapoor, ever the pillar of strength, stood steadfast beside his siblings, guiding the family through this emotional time with quiet dignity.

 

A number of prominent industry figures arrived to offer their condolences, underscoring the high regard in which Nirmal Kapoor was held. Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar and acclaimed actor Shabana Azmi were among the first to arrive, sharing words of comfort with the family. Sonam Kapoor, granddaughter of the late Nirmal Kapoor, joined the remembrance, her presence a poignant reminder of the generational bonds within the Kapoor clan. Arjun Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, and Maheep Kapoor, accompanied by her husband, were also in attendance, each one standing in solidarity and reflection.
