Netflix Drops Official Trailer for Gripping Crime Series Dept. Q

Netflix has officially released the trailer for its upcoming crime thriller series Dept. Q, a dark, character-driven adaptation of Jussi Adler-Olsen’s bestselling novels. Created, written, and directed by Scott Frank (The Queen’s Gambit), the series stars Matthew Goode as DCI Carl Morck, a brilliant but insufferable Edinburgh detective whose abrasive personality and biting sarcasm have earned him few allies on the force.

 

After a tragic incident leaves a young constable dead and his partner paralyzed, Carl is demoted and reassigned to the newly formed Department Q—a cold case unit set up more for political optics than police efficacy. Tucked away in a basement office and essentially written off by his superiors, Carl begins to assemble an unlikely team of outcasts who, like him, have been sidelined but are determined to prove their worth.

 

The trailer teases a brooding, atmospheric series packed with sharp dialogue, psychological depth, and a central mystery that kicks off when Carl reopens the years-old case of a missing civil servant.
