Anil Kapoor Remembers Late Mother Nirmal Kapoor: “The Heart of Our Home, Now Watching Over Us”

Bollywood icon Anil Kapoor paid an emotional tribute to his mother, Nirmal Kapoor, who passed away at the age of 90 on May 2 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Anil shared a series of intimate family photographs, offering a glimpse into the private moments that defined their bond.

 

Remembering her as the foundation of their family, Anil described his mother as a “quiet force” who led with warmth and compassion. “She never sought the spotlight, yet she was the one holding it all together,” he wrote. “Her strength was quiet, but unshakable. She touched lives not just through her own actions, but through the love and guidance she gave to all of us.”

 

Anil acknowledged the outpouring of love and support the family received during this difficult time, expressing deep gratitude to friends, well-wishers, and the film industry. “The messages, calls, and prayers from so many of you have reminded us just how far her love reached. We’re overwhelmed and forever thankful,” he added.

 

He also reflected on how Nirmal Kapoor played a central role in keeping the extended Kapoor family united. “From our children to our grandchildren, from family to friends—she brought everyone together. Her love knew no boundaries,” he wrote. “She was the heartbeat of our home.”

 

The funeral took place at the Vile Parle Crematorium in Mumbai, with close family and friends in attendance to bid their final farewell to a woman remembered not only for her devotion to her family but also for the quiet legacy of love she leaves behind.

 

Anil Kapoor concluded his tribute by thanking the film fraternity and fans for their unwavering support: “Your kindness and respect during this time have been a source of comfort. She’s gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.”
