When Avneet impressed Kangana with her spontaneity and understanding of human emotions

Mumbai, 14th June 2023 (Newshelpline) - Kangana Ranaut's first film as a producer 'Tiku Weds Sheru' trailer dropped on Wednesday and this quirky love story between two opposite people has excited the audience. The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and newbie Avneet Kaur in the lead roles. 

 

At the press conference held post the trailer launch of the film, Kangana spoke about why she chose Avneet for this role. The actress said, "To begin with, we were very hesitant to cast for our female lead. It is a challenging role and I had never thought to cast a new face for this. We needed a very strong actress as the role is very strong and has many layers to it. But then I thought I had also done a mature role in my first film 'Gangster' and so our hunt for a new face began.

 

But I couldn't find the right talent for it. I had then told Mukesh Chhabra to open offices in various parts of the country to find our Tiku. Finally a friend of mine sent me Avneet's instagram page link and the moment I saw her I had this feeling that she can do it. She was absolutely raw and unassuming and free. So I met her and did some exercises with her. I was taken aback with her spontaneity and understanding of human emotions. 

 

Her character goes through so many layers and she had that emotional stamina to touch those notes, to dive into depths. I was shocked to see her emotional potency and today I can say that I was totally right about her. One thing I can promise Avneet now is that she will never get weaker roles post this film. "

 

'Tiku Weds Sheru' is a quirky love story between two opposite people who end up getting married. The film is owed to all those people who come to Mumbai every day to fulfill their dreams but not everyone gets to attain them. Film directed by Sai Kabir , produced by Manikarnika Films will start streaming on Amazon Prime on June 23.
