Dressed in white tee and denims, Radhika Madan unveiled the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India’s latest vegan commercial featuring herself, posing in a garment made of cabbage leaves and urging viewers to “Turn Over a New Leaf" and “Try Vegan".
Talking to media and sharing her journey of shifting diets, Radhika said, “I was a hardcore non-vegetarian, and during the shooting of Pathakaa, I was eating meat like anything because my character was also animalistic, and the moment I started prepping for Angrezi Medium, I sort of had an inner epiphany, that I don’t want to eat eggs and meat. And with time I realize, every time I quit eating non-veg, I had more clarity of thoughts, I was feeling lighter, clearer, and less negative, I had more positivity, and purity. Food plays an important role in your physical and mental health”
“I used to be jittery and anxious while I was eating non-veg, but now I am less of it, as I have shifted. So, I am sure there must be some link with the food” added Radhika.
Further adding, Radhika Madan also busted the myth of vegan diet lacking protein, She said, “There is no protein in vegan diet, that is a one big myth, I think I shifted from protein shake to started drinking sattu, try eating pulses, chole, and more, they all have high doses of protein”
With his campaign, Madan joins the list of famous people who have partnered with PETA India to promote wholesome, cruelty-free meatless meals, including Kartik Aaryan, Anushka Sharma, Shahid Kapoor, Hema Malini, R Madhavan, and many others.
Madan is currently preparing for a number of films in 2023, including Sanaa, Happy Teacher’s Day, Rumi Ki Sharafat and the Akshay Kumar-starring remake of Oscar contender Soorarai Pottru.
