The producer of the film, Boney Kapoor took to his social media and shared a poster and wrote, “#Thunivu50thDay #AjithKumar #HVinoth”
An action heist film written and directed by H. Vinoth, and produced by Boney Kapoor. It stars Ajith Kumar in lead role with Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Ajay and Veera in supporting roles.
Thunivu was released theatrically in the week of Pongal on 11 January 2023, and it is still running in theatres. The movie marks the second collaboration between Ajith, Boney Kapoor and Vinoth, the trio earlier worked on Valimai, which suffered several delays due to COVID, eventually released but only to find limited success.
But Thunivu opned with cinema halls running in full capacity and made a whopping 250 Cr, beating Vijay starrer Varisu, which opened against Ajith Kumar starrer in cinema halls.
Thunivu’s music album is also a massive hit among fans, singles such as Chilla Chilla, Kasethan Kadavulada, and Gangstaa are a fan favourite.
The film later released on Netflix, while the satellite rights of the film were sold to Kalaignar TV
