Bollywood is again shaken up by losing its one more gem! Late actor Jagdeep whose laughter was what everyone remembered died on Wednesday at his residence. He was 81.
Actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra paying a tribute to Jagdeep penned down few lines for him on her Instagram handle. Feeling herself lucky and blessed to work with Jagdeep in the movie ‘Rishtey’, she shared one of the still from the movie.
The Instagram feed of Shilpa read, “Extremely saddened by the news of Jagdeep ji's demise. I had the good fortune to share screen space with him in Rishtey, such wonderful comic timing, in his inimitable style and an even more wonderful human being heartfelt condolences to the entire family Sending love, prayers, & strength to cope with this difficult loss.”
Veteran Actor-comedian Jagdeep, best known for his role as Soorma Bhopali in 'Sholay', the actor, real name Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri, was not keeping well.
Jagdeep appeared in around 400 films but it is his role as Soorma Bhopali in 1975 film 'Sholay' that is engraved in audiences' minds even today. He also played memorable roles in 'Purana Mandir' and in 'Andaz Apna Apna' as Salman Khan's father. Better known by his stage name Jagdeep, the actor also directed the movie 'Soorma Bhopali' with his character as the protagonist.
He is survived by two sons, actor Javed Jaaferi and film-maker Naved Jaaferi.
