The makers of Maidaan have confirmed the release date of the film, starring Ajay Devgn in the lead role. The film is slated for 27th November 2020 release.

Ajay Devgn's hugely awaited film 'Maidaan' which is based on the Golden years of Indian Football. The film also stars National award winner Keerthy Suresh.
Actor Ajay plays the role of Syed Abdul Rahim, under whose leadership the Indian football team won the Asian games in 1951 and 1962. He is also regarded as the architect of modern Indian football.
The film is helmed by Amit Sharma, who also confirmed the release date. He tweeted, “#Maidaan - The Golden era of Indian Football, will release on 27th November, 2020”
The actor is currently shooting for the third schedule of the film in Kolkata. As the film is VFX heavy, the makers want to ensure that the film has top quality VFX. The VFX supervisor has been flown in from LA for this purpose.
Produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta, the film's screenplay and dialogues are written by Saiwyn Quadros and Ritesh Shah respectively.
