Bhubaneswar, July 26 (IANS) A local court in Odisha on Friday awarded the death sentence to a person for the rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl in Angul district on January 20 this year.
The Angul Additional District and Session Judge Court awarded the death sentence to Anam Dehury after convicting him for the rape and murder of the Class VII girl at Kangula village.
The girl was going to her father's shop when Dehury kidnapped her, then raped and killed her, said sources.
The girl's body was found in some nearby bushes, the sources added.
