Mumbai, Jan 19 (IANS) Lending major HDFC Bank on Friday reported an increase of 20.1 per cent in its net profit for the third quarter of 2017-18.
According to the banking giant, its net profit during the quarter under review increased to Rs 4,642.6 crore from Rs 3,865.33 crore reported for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
"The bank's total income for the quarter ended on December 31, 2017 was Rs 24,450.4 crore, up from Rs 20,748.3 crore for the quarter ended on December 31, 2016," the company said in a statement.
"Net interest income (interest earned less interest expended) for the quarter ended on December 31, 2017 grew by 24.1 per cent to Rs 10,314.3 crore, from Rs 8,309.1 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2016..."
