Aden, June 9 (IANS/WAM) Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), a volunteer humanitarian organisation in Dubai, has sent a new shipment of antibiotics to combat cholera in the Yemen as part of the UAE's efforts to contain the epidemic.
The aid comes within the framework of the United Arab Emirates' continued humanitarian efforts to support the Yemeni people and alleviate their suffering.
The ERC delegation handed over the shipment of medicines to the representative of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Yemen, to be distributed to all governorates of Yemen as needed, said the media report on Friday.
A representative of the WHO appreciated the UAE's role in meeting the humanitarian needs of Yemen, which faces difficulties in all areas, especially health.
