Parikrama hopes to spread love at music fest in Gurgaon

Gurgaon, March 8 (IANS) Indian rock band Parikrama are set to enthrall the audience at a fest here that aims to spread the message of world peace via music. The band's members are looking to perform on a stage which will feature an array of music groups from across India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Pakistan.

Seagram’s 100 Pipers is gearing up to present the fest 100 Pipers - Nations for Peace at the DLF Cyber Hub here on Friday.

"The main idea is to show that 'united we stand, and divided we fall', as Pink Floyd said, besides many others. In these turbulent times, we wanted to pull off a show and get musicians from as many countries, to stand together on one stage and deliver a super concert, and also end up entertaining the crowd and sending out the message as well," Subir Malik, keyboardist and founding member, Parikrama said in a statement.

"Simply, when our audience will, let’s say, see a band from Bangladesh and love its music, they will surely become more in love with that band and hopefully, it will spread more love. That’s the aim (of the concert)," he added.

Besides Parikrama, the fest also features Indian electronica folk duo Hari and Sukhmani, Abhaya Subba of the Steam Injuns from Nepal, LRB (Love Runs Blind) from Bangladesh, Druk Revival from Bhutan, Pakistani veterans Noori and Paranoid Earthling from Sri Lanka.

In addition to the main concert at Cyber Hub, the bands will also perform on Thursday and Friday across locations in Delhi and Gurgaon.
