Kalyana Karnataka Utsav 2026: K'taka Minister urges people to participate in large numbers

Kalaburagi, Sep 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) Karnataka Home, IT-BT and e-Governance Minister and Kalaburagi district in-charge Minister Priyank Kharge on Tuesday appealed to the public, youth, students and families to participate in large numbers in the 79th Kalyana Karnataka Utsav-2026, to be held in Kalaburagi on September 16 and 17.

A variety of cultural, music, dance and entertainment programmes have been organised at different venues across the city to celebrate the history, art, culture, traditions and local talent of Kalyana Karnataka.

 

“The 79th Kalyana Karnataka Utsav will be a people’s festival celebrating the history, art, culture, traditions and talent of our region. I appeal to the people of Kalaburagi city and district to attend the two-day programmes in large numbers with their families and friends and actively participate in the celebrations,” Kharge said.

He particularly urged school and college students and other youngsters to attend the programmes, enjoy the performances and encourage local artists and talent.

“Kalaburagi city will come alive with festivities on September 16 and 17. The active participation of the public will be the key to the success of the festival,” he said.

On September 16, cultural performances by local artists will be held at Public Garden from 6.30 p.m., followed by classical dance and other dance performances. Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will inaugurate the Street Festival at 8 p.m. The Savari Band team will perform from 8.30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

At Appana Kere, an Indo-fusion instrumental performance by Bhairav and team will be held from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. The Chief Minister will inaugurate the lake development works at 8.30 p.m. A 3D light show and drone show will be held from 9 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.

On September 17, the Chief Minister will hoist the national flag at 9 a.m. at the Police Parade Ground as part of Kalyana Karnataka Liberation Day celebrations. A group dance performance by the Dance Karnataka Dance team will be held at the parade ground from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., along with a live painting session by renowned artist Vilas Nayak.

At Dr S.M. Pandit Rangamandira, programmes from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. will include Ganesh Vandana, stand-up comedy by Vivek Maralidharan, a contemporary dance performance by Step N Style, and stand-up comedy by S. Sonuvenu Gopal. From 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., Bengaluru-based Acoustic Saga will present a multilingual musical performance.

At Public Garden, dance performances, Sugama Sangeetha and a stand-up comedy performance by Srushti will be held from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Zee Kannada Sa Re Ga Ma Pa team will present a musical programme from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

At Appana Kere, a sound-and-light show will be held every 30 minutes from 7 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. on September 17.
