Mumbai, Aug 22 (SocialNews.XYZ) Bengali star Jeet, who has carved a special place for himself in cinema over the decades, says he sees himself as an artist and a human being before a star.
Reflecting on stardom, Jeet said the love he receives from people continues to amaze him, but for him, his identity as a father, husband and brother remains far more important.
Asked what carrying the responsibility of being a Bengali superstar means to you today, Jeet told IANS: “I'm an artist. I'm a human. More than anything else, I'm a human first. And I think that work is a part of life. And I happen to be in a profession where I connect with people.”
She added: “My work reaches out to people faster. It penetrates deeper. It makes a different kind of connection.”
Jeet said she gets amazed sometimes when he travels and when he meets people.
“I see glitters in their eyes. I see how unconditionally they love me. I see that, and I get really amazed with life—how it happened and why it happened. So, for me, when I go back home, I'm a father to someone. I'm a husband to someone, brother to someone. For me, stardom is just an additional part in your life. It's not your life,” he concluded.
Jeet’s latest release is ‘Keu Bole Biplabi Keu Bole Dakat,’ a biographical action drama directed by Pathikrit Basu. The film also stars Tota Roy Chowdhury, Kaushik Sen, Rajatav Dutt, Chandan Sen, Loknath Dey, and Mimi Chakraborty.
Set against the backdrop of 1960s Kolkata, “Keu Bole Biplobi Keu Bole Dakat” follows the mysterious Ananta Singh, an aging figure whose daring robberies of the powerful divide public opinion, hailed by some as a criminal and revered by others as a modern-day revolutionary.
The 47-year-old actor has a career spanning over two decades and has acted in 57 films. Referred to as the Boss, he is the executive president of West Bengal Motion Picture Artists' Forum.
